What do I need?
An Introduction
Chances are you are already talented and over the next few years as your skills and experience improve you will want to promote yourself. Your website can start by simply telling visitors who you are, what you do, even show some photographs.
Work & Performances
You can provide details of work to-date and your aspirations for the future. If you are a live musician you may want to show details of past and future performances including reviews, dates and details of events or venues.
Contact Details
Most importantly, your website must show your contact details. You may want to include a telephone number, email address, fax number and a "contact us" form - ideally you should include them all!
How Much Will My Website Cost?
Initial Costs
Students of Leeds College of Music will recieve a whopping 66% discount (upon showing their student ID card). The cost of the initial website after discount is £100 - no hidden costs! This is a saving of £200 on our standard price! The price also includes the first year of hosting (see the ongoing costs section below for more details of hosting).
Ongoing Costs
There should be very few ongoing costs associated with your website, especially in the early days. Hosting is charged on an annual basis and is currently £5 per month (although the first year is included as part of the discounted price). The second year of hosting will be charged on the first anniversary of the site "going live", in one lump sum (currently £60 for the year). The only other ongoing costs are maintenance - should you wish changes to be made to the website then we will charge a rate of £12 per hour to make those changes (most changes can easily be made in under an hour - minimum charge £6).
How soon can you build my website?
As soon as we hear from you we will arrange to meet up at Leeds College of Music and find out from you what information you would like on your website. We will show you a portfolio of templates and discuss your likes and dislikes in terms of colour schemes and fonts. Once we have agreed on the specification and a "go live" date, you will sign a form to say that you are happy for us to continue, we will take a cash deposit of £25 and we will start bulding the website for you. We will let you know when the site is "live" and you can check it, letting us know of any minor changes which you would like us to make (which will be included free of charge). Once the minor changes have been made you will pay the remaining £75. Simple!
Don't let your competition get ahead, £100 is a very small price to pay for marketing yourself and a website can make you look much more professional and approachable as a band, solo artist or producer.
